Linda, I believe Ridge Prairie is mostly in St. Clair Co., immediately south of the Madison Co. line. At the following web site, one can search for place names throughout the US. http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/gnis/web_query.gnis_web_query_form However, in earlier times, it wouldn't surprise me to find the "area" of Ridge Prairie extending further north than the county line. In modern times, I would use the cities of O'Fallon, Fairview Heights, and north "toward" Collinsville. Personally, I would use the old Bethel Baptist Church as one edge, with Ridge Prairie extending WSW toward the bluff. That's my $.02, Larry Wernle O'Fallon, IL ----------Original Message---------- From: Linda Peters [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, December 27, 2001 12:41 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [ILMADISO-L] Ridge Prairie, 1840 Can someone tell me what parts of Madison County were included in the Ridge Prairie Township in 1840?
