    3. I'm interested in learning more about Imans and Eymans of early Illinois. Abraham Eyman came out from WV in 1796 it seems, exploring perhaps on behalf of a large group of settlers who headed for New Design, many of them suffering badly on a horrendously fateful journey. Abraham settle in that part of Illinois which has been called various things and is now Monroe, though he also migrated toward Bellsville. Quite a bit is known about Abraham, except for where he came from prior to VA and Lancaster, his parentage, etc. Far more shrouded in mystery are other Imans who came to Illinois in early 1800s. Henry and Christopher are listed on the IllTrails site as farmers with stock. One appears in one 1820 census, the other in a second one, and so an amateur's not sure what to believe;-) My line of the family headed to the Northwest in 1850 and helped to settle Oregon Territory. I've done what I could to tell their story at http://www.enthuz.com/friends/family "Imans of Skamania", but I really would value any help getting more specific information about those Imans and Eymans of SouthWestern Illinois.
