Marsha, is this the FRIEDRICH HECKER (1811-1881) family? at this link http://www.umsl.edu/~whmc/guides/whm0451.htm I don't connect to this family but he had dealings and kept papers that document land deals with the PADFIELD family. Please post your findings to the list as I would be interesting in hearing about it.
