I'm trying to locate any information on Ruth McDonald (b. 4-2-1807, TN; d. 6-6-1877, Bexar Co., TX). She apparently married Gerald Locke prior to 1828. On 8-21-1828 she married Elijah Lacey in St. Clair Co., IL. Then on Nov. 21, 1828, she gave birth to William Locke. If the date of birth for the child is correct, she was apparently widowed after late February, 1828. When the family moved to Gillespie Co., TX, at some point prior to 1855, there were a number of McDonalds that came with them. Ruth was buried in the Locke Hill Cemetery, Bexar Co., TX, although her huband Elijah was still alive at the time. Apparently they still had a close connection to the Lockes. The eldest son of Ruth and Elijah was Aciel (Asa) Phelps Lacey (b. 5-18-1830, St. Clair Co., IL). He married Rosanna England 1-19-1848 (St. Clair or Marion Co.). and they are listed on the 1850 Census for St. Clair Co. so the families were apparently in St. Clair Co. for a number of years.
