I am looking for information on the Graf families that lived in to around Belleville, IL. I have family from two different branches of Graf's that lived there. 1. Hugo Graf married to Emma S. Kaer. Hugo was the son of Henry Graf and Ernstine Kraus. Henry remarried after the death of his first wife to Mary Buffert. I believe they lived in Indiana. 2. Jacob Rose son of Mary Graf and Henry Rose. Jacob married Mary Bishop they had five children; Henry, Julius, Lena, Katherine Rose-Schneider and Jacob Rose. Katherine Rose married A.C. Schneider, they had two children Gretchen and Lester. 3. Henry Christian Graf son of Valentin Graf and Barbara Wagner. Valentin and my GGGG Grandfather Peter came to the USA together, I have been unable to find them in the 1860 census. I believe they were living near Belleville at the time. Henry Graf married Louise Rhein they had four sons; Henry, Charles, Philip and Lewis Graf. 4. Lewis Graf married Louise Merck and they had three children; Irma married Fred Steingoetter, Elsie married Elgin Eidman and Carl married Else Knollhoff. Shawn D.
