Folks, A nifty feature of the rootsweb maillists is its Archived Posts. There are three separate areas within the Archive to help you. 1. The Interactive Search http://searches2.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl allows you to search a particular list by keyword for a particular year. The Name of our list is ilstclai - enter these letters in the search box, then on the subsequent page, enter a word or words in the Query box, and select the year you want to search. 2. The Threaded Mail Archives here http://archiver.rootsweb.com/ allows you to browse postings by month. Again, the Name of our list is ilstclai 3. If you want to search all mailists at rootsweb by year, try this link: http://listsearches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl?list=ROOTS This search may be particularly good for unusual surnames or specific combination word searches. You need not be on a list to use either of these features. Misspelled and omitted words will limit your success . I could not find a reference in the Interactive Search for a German-English dictionary using the search term dictionary. Although a www.google.com search will probably turn up a few, perhaps someone on the list will share their links. Diane
