Hi! Doesn't look like this unit did a whole lot.... If you are looking for exactly what Jacob did, you may want to order his service record, not to be confused with his pension file. (his widow file twice) This regiment was organized at Camp Butler on Feb 1, 1865, and was mustered in for one year. On Feb 14, it moved for Nashville, Tn. and thence to Chattanooga. It was assigned to duty guarding railroads. On May 1, it was assigned to the 2nd Brigade, 2nd separate division, Army of the Cumberland. It was mustered out, Jan 27, 1866, at Dalton, GA Source: The Union Army, vol. 3 fought one battle on April 1, 1865. Sally Rowe Livonia, MI p.s. there was a good article in one of the Civil War magazines regarding what those units faced, who were assigned to guarding the railroads, etc.....
