    1. [ILSTCLAI] New to List - volunteer in county
    2. Hello to one and all! When I got the "bug" for genealogy, I was delighted with all of the volunteers who looked things up for me and took photos. I've tried to pay back by volunteering here in St. Clair county. I also occasionally make a run up to Greene county as well as Madison. I recently spent some time at the Belleville library finding obits for some families and thought I'd pass along some names I ran across. These are either obits or death notices and I'll be happy to send you the transcript if they apply to your family. NO CHARGE! I do this for FUN! I'm addicted to puzzles. This one is well past the privacy date: Daily Advocate, March 7, 1890 "The wife of Mr. Fritz Wickler, a farmer of the vicinity of Darmstadt, this county, died Sunday evening, aged about 38 years. She was a daughter of Mr. Bernhard Twenhoefel, and leaves surviving her husband and five children. The funeral took place Tuesday afternoon, the remains being interred in the Darmstadt cemetery." Hilda L. Schmidt, Oct. 17, 1945, wife of Edward J. Schmidt Margaret Murphy O'Donnell; Lucy Pettersson; Mary A. (nee Nurdin) Vermillon; Charles D. Welsh --- March 19, 1930 Elenora Schmidt (nee Weiss); Laura A. Stoll (nee Jones); Frances Schofield; John Bassler; Walter Battas -- Jan. 30, 1977 John E. "Bum" Beatty; Carrie Lella Stief (nee Haines); William S. Krause; Melinda Knobeloch (nee Voelkel); Clarence Raymond Dohrmann; Margaret Fehl (nee Kuehn); Frank Herin; Johnnie Johnson; Geroge R. Kranz; Lucille L. McNicoll (nee Rausch); Clara Thies (nee Rubach) -- October 17, 1983 As I said, if you contact me I'll be happy to transcribe these for you. I'll also gladly do more searching for out-of-state folks, including cemetery hunts and photos. However, I don't work on any set schedule as I work full-time on night shifts and also babysit my grandkids (including a toddler) during the day. Happy hunting!
