I need help determining whether or not an article printed in The East St. Louis Daily Journal Friday Evening February 1, 1907 is about my grandfather David Case Whitney. It reports that C. L. Whitney a car inspector employed by the Illinois Central Railroad was instantly killed. Problem is C. L. Whitney was David's son and much too young to be working. I am looking for an obit either in the East St. Louis Journal or the Belleville newspaper for David sometime shortly after Jan. 31, 1907. Or was there really a C. L. Whitney? I am not sure where he was originally buried - they did move him to Mt. Hope later but I've been told there is no tombstone. I would really appreciate any information in determining who the C. L.
