Two months ago, before I came down with the flu, I took photos of stones at the cemetery ACROSS from Green Mount Cemetery. It is on private property and there are two actual burying grounds, one fenced, one not. I took photos of most of the stones in the unfenced portion and will send photos on-line to anyone who requests them: James Hill and Elizabeth Thrift Peter Hill and Elizabeth William Barton E. Wood Mary Hill Ella Hill William Hill and Emeline Phillips Emily Thrift Elizabeth Hill, wife of Wm McGuire Sarah Hill and William Rittenhouse James Foster Asah Hill Rebecca Foster Sarah Ellen Gooch Amy L., wife of J. Wilderman Andrew Jackson Hill Permelia Hill and in the fenced portion, I took only one photo (out of film) of the stone for Rabbi Leon Straus, Born 22 April 1825 in Hircheimbolander, Rheinbayern, Died 3 July 1895 in Chicago, Illinois. You may contact me at maestrowz@aol.com and be sure to put one of these names in the subject line. Donnell Redlingshafer Wisniewski
For those interested in tombstone transcriptions in this cemetery named RIDER - one appeared (done in 1982) in SCCGS Quarterly vol 6:1 pp. 25-30, and thee additional stones appeared vol. 7:4 pg 186. [although I didn't see a Barton in the published inventory] Since these issues are out of print, individual pages may be ordered using this form http://www.compu-type.net/rengen/stclair/stcform.htm ----- Original Message ----- From: <Maestrowz@aol.com> To: <ILSTCLAI-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, November 02, 2004 8:35 AM Subject: [ILSTCLAI] Hill, foster, Thrift, Strauss, etc. > Two months ago,...I took photos of stones at > the cemetery ACROSS from Green Mount Cemetery. Diane and Donnell, Thanks so much for all the time and effort you put into making records available for others. I was in the library and courthouse in Belleville about 6 weeks ago and do so appreciate all you and your society have done.
