I am searching for information on the family of a Charles STEWART & Mary Ann PENN He was b. 1818 Maryland, d 1881 Stoddard CO. MO.  She was the daughter of Mary Ann Starr b. 27 Oct. 1794, Va. and d. 25 Dec.1870, Lebanon, St. Clair, IL., & Phillip Penn, her parents could be Daniel Starr, born in Va. in 1768, & Elizabeth Dodgely(Dedgely), born 14, Dec. 1775, in Hardy County Va., and married about 1793 in Virginia. Charles & Mary Ann STEWART's 3 sons were born in IL, since they were married in St. Clair Co., IL, I would assume that they would have lived there, and that's where the boys were born, but I haven't been able to prove it.  According to the census, both of Charles STEWART's parents were born in MD, and according to the naming practices, if he were to name his first son after his father I found a marriage record of a Pollard STEWART and a Rosanna PROCTOR that could work, Pollard is not a commond first name: ============================ Marriage Records 1780-1867 Dorchester County Maryland (Alpha order by wife P - S) 17 MAY 1815   STEWART, Pollard                    PROCTOR, Rosanna ========================== Charles STEWART b. 1818 MD,  m. 1849 Mary Ann PENN b. Joseph Pollard STEWART b. 2 Oct. 1893  m. 1914 Ruth MAHER b 23 Aug 1893 (my grandparents) in St. Louis, MO. Phillip died and Ollie remarried a Harry Erickson in Poplar Bluff.
