I'm sorry, I don't know your BROWN family, but I have an Ellen BROWN who was my great great grandmother that I know very little about, but what I do know I thought I'd throw out there. Ellen Brown b. IRL 1815 d. Belleville, IL 1880 m. Edward O'Neil b. Roscrea, Tip. IRL 1806 d. Belleville, IL 1879 (my great great grandfather) I know that Ellen BROWN was from Ireland, but don't know if they met in Tipperary or when the O'Neils emigrated to Utica, NY in 1829. I do know that Ellen Brown was in Utica from a family biography, and when the O'Neil family moved to St. Louis from Utica, in 1837, Ellen stayed behind and Edward came back for her when he'd settled and was earning a living as a Blacksmith in Bell eville, IL. Perhaps some of her family moved to the St. Clair or St. Louis area with her and there is a connection. The rest of the O'Neils lived in St. Louis.
