I am looking for someone who died while living in Belleville, Ill. St. Clair Co. His name was William Roosevelt Watson. He was born as Clarence William Watson on July 28, 1917 in New Haven Township, Gallatin County, Ill. He had his name legally change to William Roosevelt Watson on March 17, 1942. The change was signed for by his aunt, Esther Lewis. Esther was a sister to Dessie Alma Drake-Watson...who married John Willis Watson. Bill married a Jenny Hemme and they lived in Belleville, Ill. Bill use to drive a diesel for a living. Approximately in 1981 or close to that date, he was driving somewhere around Belleville, when a tire blew on the truck and he crossed the median and ended up hitting a car head on. The car had a family in it, and the collision caused a fiery explosion, killing all involved. I would like to find where Bill is buried. He is most likely buried in a Catholic cemetery, but I don't know exactly where. I do know he is supposedly buried in Belleville, Ill. St. Clair Co. I am trying to find a newspaper article about the crash. I know it made the newspaper(s) and probably the Belleville News Democrat or E.St. Louis Journal (?). Unfortunately no one that I know kept a copy or copies of the crash article or Bill's obituary. This may be a duplicate or triplicate because I keep getting messages that this e-mail is not being received by the subscribers to the St. Clair Co., Ill. web site.
