15 April 2002 The St. Clair County Genealogical Society is pleased (thrilled, excited, overjoyed) to announce the completion of their Catholic Records Project. Register entries prior to 1931 from all parishes in the Diocese are included in the project. Please read the Introduction and view the Finding aid that lists all microfilm available http://www.compu-type.net/rengen/stclair/cath.htm There are plans to put a Guide to each roll of film (170) online to help researchers prepare prior to arrival at the library. This Guide will provide specific beginning and ending dates for each register on the roll and the sequence in which it appears. In the meantime, both libraries below have this Guide. A complete microfilm set is now available at the Belleville Public Library http://www.compu-type.net/rengen/stclair/BPL.htm . The microfilm Guide to each roll of film is available at the Archives Desk -- ask for it. St. Louis County Library http://www.slcl.lib.mo.us/slcl/sc/index.html will soon have a set available and will be announced on this maillist when that time comes.
