Hi listers, I hope you can send me in the right direction on this one. There is a cemetery in eastern St. Clair county, near Summerfield, that is commonly referred to as the Padfield Cemetery. It is severely overgrown and I would like to do something about it. How do I find out who is responsible for the caretaking of this cemetery? It hasn't been used in a very long time, so I assume that the caretaking was turned over to the county. You have to go through private land to get to it, but the owner is very generous when it comes to this. Their field road goes right by the cemetery, and the lady of the house encouraged us to use it. In addition to finding out who is responsible for the cemetery, I am also interested in finding out if there might be any grants available to help cover the expense of cleaning this place up. I really don't know if this is possible, and I am willing to organize this myself without any extra funds, I was just curious. Any information an! yone might have that could help would be wonderful.
