Searching censuses I found a Peter Walthes in 1880 & 1900 living at Looking Glass, Clinton County, IL In the 1920 census found most Walthes in Looking Glass and East St. Louis but found a William Walthes in Mascoutah, St. Clair, IL This family looks like they settled in Indiana abt 1850 and then IL around 1860 in both Looking Glass Township and Macoutah. Between 1860 & 1870 did a group of Germans settle this area? Were they just individual families or a group? Judy Ullman
