Hello, I have recently found out that I have relatives buried in one of the cemeteries in St. Clair. |Can anyone give me any suggestions as to how to find which cemetery they might be in? Or who the caretakers are and how to contact them? Thankyou, Sally Havens
If the cemetery tombstones have been recorded by SCCGS (they've done more than 150), you can narrow the cemetery in which your ancestors reside by searching this surname index http://www.compu-type.net/rengen/stclair/CEMETA.htm Or, you can also phone the archives dept. at the BPL and ask them to look in their St. Clair county Burial File which they compiled from the same SCCGS cemetery publications plus Walnut Hill in Belleville. Contact info is here: http://www.compu-type.net/rengen/stclair/BPL.htm Be aware not all cemeteries have been inventoried. For those still needing transcription, see this list which can be scanned for keywords by township using the Find feature on your browser. The word [blank] in the far right column means it has not been published/inventoried by SCCGS. Diane Diane
