I am researching the Miller family in the Lost River area of Hardy Co. My ancestor, Michael Miller, b. abt 1760 along with his brother William Miller, b. 1768, came to Monroe/St. Clair County, IL as part of the Rev Badgeley group. I have visited the Miller cemetery in Hardy County which is in bad shape. I believe that William and Michael's parents were Jacob Miller and spouse Barbara who came from Pennsylvania and are both buried at Miller Cem. Michael participated in the Rev War at Yorktown. His pension application is on file at the Virginia State Library in Richmond. His brother William was a witness. William settled in New Design, St. Clair Co., Illinois. He married Mary Huffman on February 09, 1796 in Hardy Co. They had at least one child, Solomon, who participated in the Black Hawk War in Illinois in 1831. I belive Solomon had two children, Magdalene Miller and Jackson Miller Michael settled in Bellefontaine, Monroe Co., Illinois. He married Mary Cecelia ??? in Sep 1790 in Hardy Co. They had at least 4 children. a. Sarah m. Jesse Wiswall, b. Mary m. Emory Peter Rogers, c. Catherine m. William Ditch. William and Michael had several other siblings from what I am able to gather: Anthony Miller, b. 1755, Hampshire/Hardy Co, m. Elizabeth Chrisman. He had Rev War Service. Abraham Miller, b. abt. 1750, m. Elizabeth Huffman, sister of Mary above. Any help particularly about Jacob Miller, who seems to be the first Miller in the area, would be greatly appreciated. Steve
