I am searching for information on the family of Arthur MORGAN and his wife (we believe) Sarah TALBOT. Coombs family tradition says that Arthur came from Washington County, Kentucky where he had married Catherine Jackson. Arthur was in St. Clair County about 1804, plus or minus a couple of years. He settled in the area that became Columbia in Monroe County. He had a large family, including Nancy who married Isaiah Mead Coombs and then John Carr, Maria who married Mark Anthony Coombs, and Lucinda who married John (or Nelson) Turner. Also sons, Edward T (for Talbot?), and John born in 1805. Through County Court records Arthur Morgan was involved with guardianship cases with Talbot and Wilson families. I would appreciate any help you can give me about the Morgan and Talbot families. Would the records for the time period before 1816 be in St. Clair or Monroe County Court houses, or other repositories?
