I would like to thank everyone who responded to my request for information about Dica Shipman on the 1930 Census. I was amazed at how fast the responses came in. The information filled a big gap in my research. Dean.......... deanandnell@intellex.com

Diane and Donnell, Thanks so much for all the time and effort you put into making records available for others. I was in the library and courthouse in Belleville about 6 weeks ago and do so appreciate all you and your society have done. Two months ago, before I came down with the flu, I took photos of stones at the cemetery ACROSS from Green Mount Cemetery. It is on private property and there are two actual burying grounds, one fenced, one not. I took photos of most of the stones in the unfenced portion and will send photos on-line to anyone who requests them: James Hill and Elizabeth Thrift Peter Hill and Elizabeth William Barton E. Wood Mary Hill Ella Hill William Hill and Emeline Phillips Emily Thrift Elizabeth Hill, wife of Wm McGuire Sarah Hill and William Rittenhouse James Foster Asah Hill Rebecca Foster Sarah Ellen Gooch Amy L., wife of J. Wilderman Andrew Jackson Hill Permelia Hill and in the fenced portion, I took only one photo (out of film) of the stone for Rabbi Leon Straus, Born 22 April 1825 in Hircheimbolander, Rheinbayern, Died 3 July 1895 in Chicago, Illinois. You may contact me at maestrowz@aol.com and be sure to put one of these names in the subject line. Donnell Redlingshafer Wisniewski
A nice place to post photos is the Virtual Cemetery http://www.genealogy.com/genealogy/VG/vcem_search.html I have posted many, for example enter the last name of Poirot, nothing else, then click SEARCH and you will see a list of my Poirot ancestors, just click on a name and you will get the photo. Thank you to all the wonderful list subscribers who offered help in seeing that a "proud mommy" had a clipping from the Sunday news mag. I have found someone willing to mail me her copy. I had tried to retrieve the article from the BND website and hadn't been successful in using their search engine. Regards, Karen Nelson Hangsleben, TX

F.Y.I.- If anyone is needing a death certificate (issued ANYWHERE in Illinois from 1916-1947), I can obtain them through the IL State Archives' holdings in Springfield (where I live & research); my fee is $3.50 per death cert 1916-1947. I'm researching the Hatcher line. In particular at this time I'm looking for the grave of Theodosius Hatcher (b abt 1908 d June 27, 1931). She was born I believe in Dupo, St Clair Co., IL and died in Sangamon Co., IL. Her maiden name was Barber. From my 1st cousin I got this when I asked him the location of his grandmother's grave. We went to Dupo when I was about 12 and went to my grandma's grave. It was a small rural cemetery in very bad condition. An old man was trying to keep it from being overgrown with weeds and brush (and losing the battle) and he mentioned that after heavy rains he would pick up bones at the bottom of the hill and re-bury them. Some old-timers in Dupo might know something about the cemetery, but I doubt that it is still there. Given my cousins birth, he visited the site about 1961. It's not much to go on I realize but does anyone recognize the name or know perhaps where this cemetery is located? Anything will help; I've found a lot on the Hatcher side but as yet have no further info on the Barber's Thanks Mike

I am looking for someone who died while living in Belleville, Ill. St. Clair Co. His name was William Roosevelt Watson. He was born as Clarence William Watson on July 28, 1917 in New Haven Township, Gallatin County, Ill. He had his name legally change to William Roosevelt Watson on March 17, 1942. The change was signed for by his aunt, Esther Lewis. Esther was a sister to Dessie Alma Drake-Watson...who married John Willis Watson. Bill married a Jenny Hemme and they lived in Belleville, Ill. Bill use to drive a diesel for a living. Approximately in 1981 or close to that date, he was driving somewhere around Belleville, when a tire blew on the truck and he crossed the median and ended up hitting a car head on. The car had a family in it, and the collision caused a fiery explosion, killing all involved. I would like to find where Bill is buried. He is most likely buried in a Catholic cemetery, but I don't know exactly where. I do know he is supposedly buried in Belleville, Ill. St. Clair Co. I am trying to find a newspaper article about the crash. I know it made the newspaper(s) and probably the Belleville News Democrat or E.St. Louis Journal (?). Unfortunately no one that I know kept a copy or copies of the crash article or Bill's obituary. This may be a duplicate or triplicate because I keep getting messages that this e-mail is not being received by the subscribers to the St. Clair Co., Ill. web site.
