    1. William Roosevelt Watson or Clarence William Watson - Vehichle Crash & Obituary
    2. James Harris
    3. I am looking for someone who died while living in Belleville, Ill. St. Clair Co. His name was William Roosevelt Watson. He was born as Clarence William Watson on July 28, 1917 in New Haven Township, Gallatin County, Ill. He had his name legally change to William Roosevelt Watson on March 17, 1942. The change was signed for by his aunt, Esther Lewis. Esther was a sister to Dessie Alma Drake-Watson...who married John Willis Watson. Bill married a Jenny Hemme and they lived in Belleville, Ill. Bill use to drive a diesel for a living. Approximately in 1981 or close to that date, he was driving somewhere around Belleville, when a tire blew on the truck and he crossed the median and ended up hitting a car head on. The car had a family in it, and the collision caused a fiery explosion, killing all involved. I would like to find where Bill is buried. He is most likely buried in a Catholic cemetery, but I don't know exactly where. I do know he is supposedly buried in Belleville, Ill. St. Clair Co. I am trying to find a newspaper article about the crash. I know it made the newspaper(s) and probably the Belleville News Democrat or E.St. Louis Journal (?). Unfortunately no one that I know kept a copy or copies of the crash article or Bill's obituary. This may be a duplicate or triplicate because I keep getting messages that this e-mail is not being received by the subscribers to the St. Clair Co., Ill. web site. 2. Diane Walsh
    3. Folks, One kind observer informed me all of the September queries recently posted have the email incorrect (the words http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilstclair/ precede each actual address. The wierd thing is the coding shows the CORRECT code-the additional words do not appear!!! It might take a while to figure out what is going on and how to correct it, but in the meantime, just delete the above wording from the Sept query before you email one of the people. (If any computer wizards out there know the answer, I'm all ears) Diane

    1. Edward Euler obituary
    2. My Euler family was from the Paderborn, Hecker, Prarie du Long area. Edward Euler was born on 22, July, 1879, and died on 6, April, 1904. His father and mother were Andreas Euler and Mary Raubold. I've heard a rumor that he was struck by lightning while working in the fields. Belleville library couldn't find an obit on him. All of the Euler's are buried in St. Augustine's Catholic cemetery, and, while I did find his grave, I would appreciate some help finding an obit on him. Thanks in advance, Maria Euler-Bonetti

    1. Ruth McDonald Lacey
    2. I'm trying to locate any information on Ruth McDonald (b. 4-2-1807, TN; d. 6-6-1877, Bexar Co., TX). She apparently married Gerald Locke prior to 1828. On 8-21-1828 she married Elijah Lacey in St. Clair Co., IL. Then on Nov. 21, 1828, she gave birth to William Locke. If the date of birth for the child is correct, she was apparently widowed after late February, 1828. When the family moved to Gillespie Co., TX, at some point prior to 1855, there were a number of McDonalds that came with them. Ruth was buried in the Locke Hill Cemetery, Bexar Co., TX, although her huband Elijah was still alive at the time. Apparently they still had a close connection to the Lockes. The eldest son of Ruth and Elijah was Aciel (Asa) Phelps Lacey (b. 5-18-1830, St. Clair Co., IL). He married Rosanna England 1-19-1848 (St. Clair or Marion Co.). and they are listed on the 1850 Census for St. Clair Co. so the families were apparently in St. Clair Co. for a number of years. Any information about Ruth McDonald will be appreciated. Dorothy Landoll

    1. Wiesenbach 1850 Census
    2. I am researching George & Louise (Hesse) Wiesenbach. On the 1850 St Clair Co, Ridge Prairie, series: M432 Roll: 126 Page:470, dwelling/family 166, there is a Geo Wiesenbach, Louise and child (name looks like Anna), age 10 months. There is also a Catharine Peterson listed in the household, age 5 with no known relationship? I can't locate them in 1860 or 1870 census but they are in 1880 census in St Clair Co. The oldest child is a son, named Christ and no mention of an older daughter. If any one has any information on this family please respond. Thanks Ted Nichols Nicholsted@aol.com
