But I did go to the frequency-of-given-names page and then ran through the fore-names that were there with my choice of surname. I picked up a few people that way, but it is not very satisfactory. Yes - the present parameter of the info is the 1621-1799 period - roughly from first settlement through the completed changeover to British rule. I'm sure they'll be going on to add other dates when they can! Glad you liked the site - I use the variant info all the time. Ginny
