I discoved a post you made last summer regarding an e-mail list for the St. Anne area. I am researching Vandandaigue-dit-Gadbois (They actually went by Gadbois in Illinois), Granger, and Lambert in the St. Anne, Bourbonnais, and Kankakee vacinities. My Gadbois family, cousins Pierre and Joseph, came to St. Anne about 1855. Joseph and his wife, Eleanor Lambert are listed in the 1860 census. Pierre and his wife, Julie Granger, are listed as well. They were from Trois Riveres, Quebec. Although they seem to be in the right time frame for the French-Canadians following Fr. Chiniquy, they did remain loyal to the Catholic church. In fact, my husband's family, descendents of Joseph, are still very active in the Catholic Church. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time. >> Bonsoir Rachelle, Ginny passed your message on to the list. In Fathers Charles Chiniquy's Ledger, both the name GADBOIS and VANDANDAIGUE appear in the records. There is only one entry...... page 120 -marriage records 29 Dec 1855 Pierre VANDANDAIGUE dit Gadbois, of age son of Andre VANDANDAIGUE & Sophie Richard. Joseph is listed as a witness. Under the surname LAMBERT, I have a number of entries. Is there anyone special you're looking for. I show nothing for GRANGER in this book. I'll check my other books tomorrow and see what else I can find for you. Carol Anne
