Actually, the original name is HUET dit Dulude (note the "u" in place of the "e" in the dit name). The pioneer, Joseph, was from the village of Le Lude, arrondissement of La Fleche, diocese of Angers, province of Anjou (now Sarthe), France. Some where along the line, the spelling got changed, as in many F/C surnames.
