    3. Since my original message sems to have come out with all the accented letters (in French) "garbled", I take the liberty, with my excuses, to resend it in another format. With my apologies again, for this "repeat". New to this list; HUBERT Hi Listers! I have decided to join this list because on my interest in finding whether some of the HUBERT families that moved to Illinois in the past are connected to my ancestor, René HUBERT (who first married in Quebec City in 1669). In my search for his descendants, I have gathered data on around 3000 HUBERT marriages, mostly in Quebec, but also in Ontario and parts of the USA. Will be glad to assist. I will eventually come to the list with some specific questions, besides the ones below. For the time being, let us say that my most immediate interest lies with Pierre (Peter) HUBERT (sometimes HÉBERT, but I am convinced he as indeed a HUBERT) who was married to Marie KIROUAC on 17Feb1862 at maternity BVM Church, Bourbonnais, Kankakee. They later moved to L'Érable. I have yet to find out for sure who the parents of Pierre and Marie were (their mariage entry at BMV is silent on that), and therefore to "connect" them with one or other of the 3-4 distinct HUBERT lines in Quebec. I have a lot of data on the baptism./burials of their children in the Kankakee area, with many other HUBERTs showing as godparents, etc, and who I presume would be related to Pierre. I am in the (slow) process of putting some order in all that info, so as to facilitate my research, and at some point I may come to the list with that. One unconfirmed, and week, hypothesis I have is that Pierre HUBERT's parents might/might be Joseph HUBERT and Angèle BEAUGRAND-CHAMPAGNE, married in Joliette, Quebec in 1836, and seven children of whom married in Ontario between 1862-1884. Another, definitely more promising one, would be that Pierre HUBERT's parents were François HUBERT and M.-Anastasia PERREAULT, married in L'Acadie, Québec in 1823. One of that couple's sons, François, and his wife Julie DUCHARME, are god-parents to a child born to Pierre and Marie KIROUAC in 1877. Another son of François/Anasthasia, Wenceslau, is a witness at the burial in 1870, of a daugther born to Pierre/Marie. A daugther of François and Anastasia, Rosalie, and her husband David LAGESSE, are god-parents to another child of Pierre/Marie in 1868 (in Clifton, Illinois). And Olive, a sister of Rosalie, togetrher with her husband J.-B. Simoneau, are also god-parents to another offsring of Pierre/Marie (1864). The Pierre HUBERT/Marie KIROUAC couple are in turn god-parents of a child born to Florence HUBERT (another daugther of François HUBERT/Anastasia PERREAULT) and Joseph SIMONEAU in 1862. I stronly suspect that had to be a relationship between all those sons/daugthers of François HUBERT/Anathsasia PERREAULT appearing as godparents or witnesses in relation to children of Pierre HUBERT/Marie KIROUAC, and Pierre HUBERT himself. Maybe he was a brother of theirs...., or a cousin.... Then there is a "John Baptist" HUBERT and a Marguerite "TIROY" (probably a misspell for KIROUAC; there are othet such instances) are god-parents of a child born to Pierre/Marie KIROUAC in 1862. Was Jean-Batiste HUBERT relayed to Pierre HUBERT (brother, cousin)? And was Marguerite KIROUAC related to Marie KIROUAC? Regards to all.
