    3. The History Channel had a great show about the Lewis and clark expedition. The show stated that, "Pomp" was educated by one of the pair of Lewis and Clark, and became the traveling companion of a wealthy European noble. According to the PDRH, Toussaint was born in Boucherville, Quebec, but I would have to go back to find who his parents were. Sacajawea died while still in her 20's. The large, rock outcropping in eastern Montana was named after "Pomp" and is called "Pompey's Pillar". There are, on that pillar, inscriptions written by members of the L&C expedition.
