    1. [ILSTANNE] LaFountain/LaFontaine/Fontaine dit Bienvenue
    2. Lafountain
    3. It has been some time since I joined St. Anne's group and I'm not sure how clear I was in providing relevant info when I joined. I will try again on the new "connection." I am Bill LaFountain (William), son of William LaFountain who was b.1885 in Fowler, IN, and raised in Wellington, IL. In turn, he was the son of Lewis/ Louis LaFountain b.1868 in Kankakee, IL; son of Lewis LaFountain, b. 1844 in Plattsburg County, NY; son of Moise/Moses Joseph LaFountain (AKA Fontaine or LaFontaine) b. 1821 Beloeil, QB.....on through Gabriel (1798).. Augustin(1765....Louis-Augustin (1765)....Augustin Fontaine b. 1718 .....Pierre Fontaine dit Bienvenue b.1668 in Orleans, FR, ......and Jacques Fontaine b circa 1618-28 in Orleans, FR. I have lost track of Moise/ Moses (above), who moved to Kankakee area circa 1850-55. He was married to Amelia/Emelie Lamoureux, and probably preceded her in death. His siblings included : Gabriel, Sophrine, Augustin, Rose, and Philomine, Louis-Napoleon. A ! picture from a Kankakee newspaper shows Amelia and 4 other generations of LaFountains around 1905. She may have remarried after Moise's death. Moise and/or Amelia may have been involved in the St. Anne ecclesiastical reform movement. I would like to have information about Moise and Amelia and "whatever." Note: One generation of LaFountains had some connection (marriage?) with the Jesse and Pearl Legg family who farmed in KK county in 1930s and 40s (+?)
