    3. Could be Rose Tetreault born May 28, 1853 d/o Guilaume and Desanges Ponton dit St-Germain and sister of Mary wife of Jean-Baptiste Regnier. Guillaume and Desanges were originally from Marieville, Rouville County, Quebec and emigrated to US after 1847. If this is the same Rose I would like more info on her husband Joseph Ferry if possible. Can anyone tell me when he died and where his body is buried? Also, in going through my mothers' photographs I found a photo titled "Grandma Fountain". Could Widow Ferry have married a Mr. Fountain? And where and when? Any help would be appreciated. 3. Everything agrees except the "sister of Mary" part. I don't have that connection. A cousin got the info from Grandpa John, son of Joseph (grandpa mumbled a bit), that Josephs' family was in the restaurant business in Paris. When a son came of age, they would select a bride for him and set up the couple with a new restaurant and the family business would grow. Joseph found out the he was scheduled to marry a girl he had known for a long time, and he couldn't stand her! He ran away, and when they were taking names at the ferry boat (probably going to England and then to the New World), he saw "ferry" on the boat and gave that as his last name. Now you know as much as I know! If you read French and can get hold of Paris city directories for restaunts an then to the names of the owners, you just might break through the "wall" that has been my problem.
