    3. Cindy From my records I show Louis Roy (brother to my ggrandfather Philippe Roy) married to Rosalie Benoit. They had a daughter Alice who was adopted. Yes they were living in Kansas, but Louis moved back to Kankakee and died there on April 15, 1920. Rosalie was the daughter of Henry and Prudence and died Jan 11, 1895 at Palmer, Kansas. Louis and Philippe Roy had farms across the road from each other near Palmer, Washington County, Kansas in the late 1800's. I have a copy of the plat map for Washington County that shows both farms. Philippe Roy was married to Zelia Cyre. Zelia (Cyre) Roy and Louisa (Cyre) Benoit were sisters. Their parents were Joseph Cyre and Adelaide Ponton who are both buried in St. Joseph, Cloud County, Kansas. I show that Henry Benoit and Louisa (Cyre) Benoit were the parents of 13 children and moved from Washington County to Clyde, Cloud County, Kansas and then to Rooks County, Kansas. Show Henry's parents also as Henry and Prudence. Show Henry and Prudence as being married Nov 8, 1842 at St Mathias, Quebec. Show Henry and Prudence also having two other children, Fesel still living in 1880 and Joseph who died on Feb 19,1903 at St Joseph, Kansas. Show his parents as Ignace Benoit and Charlotte Monty who were married Feb 17, 1817 at Chambly, Quebec and her parents as Francois Desnoyers and Prudence Goguet who were married Sept 30, 1823 at Marieville, Quebec. So Prudence's mother was also Prudence. When I was growing up in Clyde, Kansas in the 1950's and 1960's, Alphonse Benoit (son of Henry and Louisa) visited a lot with my grandfather Philip Roy (son of Philippe and Zelia). Alphonse and Philip both in their 70's and 80's by now would have been first cousins and each lived with one of their daughters only a half block from each other in Clyde.
