Above you suggest a Joseph was born 1776 and another Joseph b. 1779. What does this mean and which one is mine? Michel was born about 1816 in Canada and died about Oct. 7, 1882 in Illinois. Jan It probably is that the first Joseph died and they had a subsequent son and also named him Joseph . If so then your Joseph was baptised in 1779. It relates only to the baptismal date as they " both had the same parents " and would not affect the genealogy line or have someone verify the bap. date in the PRDH at the Bourbonnais Library or go online for it. The following is an extract of mariages in St.Jean County 1828-1950. 1. Rose Segaud daughter of J.B. Segaud et Marie Carriere, maries at St.Jean, 7 Aug 1838,a Michel Lacoste son of Joseph et Marguerite Benoit (Lacadie) 2. Louis Segaud son of J.B.Segaud et Marie Carriere, maries at St.Jean,17 Oct 1837,a Roselie Allard daughter of Toussaint Allard et Charlotte Roy. Hope this helps. a Bientot Jack Langlois
