Hello Brenda, My first response to you bounced back to me so I'll try again. First off, thank you for your investigation. Some of the info I did have but some I did not. Interesting theory about SOLOMEA CLOUATRE possibly being 2d wife to PIERRE BECK. One of the older group of children (PETER) born in Montreal lists SOLOMEA as his mother so I tend to think they all had the same parents. But I'll keep that thought in the back of my head since I have learned to never discount a possibility. Can you tell me a little bit about this book by Rev. Albert Ledoux you mentioned? What type of info is in it? By the way, I did get some of the Scandanavian height. I am 5'9". With the French Canadian/Danish mix my father and his siblings were half and half. They ranged from 5'0" to 6'2". Is anyone aware of possible resources regarding schools in Kankaee Township in 1860? Since PIERRE BECK was listed as schoolteacher in that census he may well have been doing just that at the time. And of course he was French speaking so that may narrow it down. Thanks Rolayne Nelson
