    1. [ILSTANNE] Fowler, Benton County, IN

    3. I am not sure if any of the French-Canadian families that moved to Benton County did so because of Father Chiniquy. Prior to 1871 there were no railroads running thru Benton County. Since this would cause a long trip to market there probably was not a great interest in the land there. Once the railroad came thru the county Benton County farmland became more desirable. Plus the railroad now had land for sale. I may be wrong about this but I believe that Fowler was built in the early 1870's also because/by the railroad. Richard Graveline
