Thanks to Les Arseneau for the link to nice bit of history on the Hessians who settled in Canada after the Revolutionary War. The recent TV movie "The Crossing" told the story of George Washington's battle against the well trained German Hessian Troops. Luckily the American's were able to sneek up on the Hessian troops while they were sleeping. The Hessian troops far out numbered the rag tag Americans, and had superior training, and weapons. If you missed the original broadcast, you might want to keep an eye open for the reruns. Genealogy gives us a brush up course on History and Geography. It adds so much to your research work when you discover what brought your ancestors to North America. Audrey
