Here's our answer to the THANK-YOU QUESTION: I figure we're not such a big operation that we have to bury the THANK YOUs off-list. I like to see the THANK YOUs in our list messages - that way we can all profit from having good examples in front of our noses. When we see in the messages how generous our listers are with their information and work-product, it's nice to see them thanked publicly. 2. Message format: PLAIN TEXT only, please. 3. Attachments: Please don't try to send ANY attachments; RootsWeb does not allow them. 4. Subject Lines: Please provide each message with a sensible and informative headline. "Help!" is not acceptable. <GRIN> 5. Advertising: no outright ads, please - but it is certainly acceptable to send brief information about books and other resource material that may be of interest to the ILSTANNE listers. 6. IMPORTANT !!! please quote ONLY A LITTLE of the message you are answering - just enough to let other readers know what you are talking about. If your computer automatically copies the entire message to which you are responding, please DISABLE that feature. Otherwise, our database gets crowded with duplicates and our weekly ILSTANNE DIGEST contains too many repeats - tacky and inefficient. 7. Archives: At present archival copies are stored at < rootsweb.com > and can be retrieved by anyone. The RootsWeb homepage can provide a link to archive searches; also, see our list taglines. 8.
