I guess if I were inviting guests to the Thanksgiving dinner, I would probably not go back so far. My grandparent's died when my mom was a teen so I think I might just go back that far and invite Zoe and Francis Rabideau for dinner. Since they lived just a couple houses down from the Catholic Church , I think I would also invite the nuns who worked at the school so I could find out even more about my mom and her family. My mom and her sibs just would never talk about their lives before the younger ones got out of "The Friends of the Homeless Orphanage" ...... except for the story about my mom starting school. When she showed up for school not speaking any English in 1916 or 1917, the nuns asked my grandparents to send her next oldest sister to school with her so they could learn English together and then practice at home so the family would learn English also.
