    3. I have recently had the opportunity to go through papers of my grandfather who was the son of Joseph and Helene (Gelineau) Bastien. Among the papers is the original Last Will & Testatment of Pierre Gelineau, Power of Attorney made by his Chicago descendants, and a Letter of Guardianship. My comments are in brackets [ ]. Here is a partial transcript of the LWT [there is no punctuation at all]: In the name of God Amen I Peter Gillineau of Shirley Township Cloud County Kansas being of sound mind and disposing memory and knowing the uncertainty of life do make and ordain and publish and declare this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following...that my just debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon after my decease conviently may be I give and devise to my son Henry and to my daughter Neldore share and share alike and to the survivers of them should either of them depart this life before my decease homested the southeast quarter of Section Thirty two of Township Six South of Range One West in Cloud County Kansas to have to hold. . . I charge upon my said homested and upon my said devise the furnishing to my daughter Agness so long as she may remain unmarried and may desire to live upon my said homested suitable lodging food clothing and medical attendence and missing during sickness to be supplyd there and where else As to the rest residue and remainder of my estate...which I now own or may own at the time of my decease I give devise and bequeath the same to my son Henry but should my son Henry depart this life before my decease I give devise and bequeath the same to my said son Francois Pierre [Nademse?] Herbert (called Emery) Achille and George equal parts I direct that my son Henry receive such an education as his guardian hereinafter named shall deem proper and shal be warented by the estate I leave to him I hereby nominate and appoint my friend Joseph Dumas ['friend Joseph Dumas' is crossed out] sole executor and guardian...of the estate of my said son Henry and of my said daughter Neldore and as I have the utmost confidence in him I desire that Letters issued to him with out bonds being required of him In testamony whereof I have caused my name to be signed at the end of this my last Will and Testament at Concordia Cloud County Kansas this the first day October anno Domini one thousand eight hundred ['seventy eight or eighty' both are crossed out] Peter Gillineau by L. J. Crans [no witnesses] 6 Feb 1882 - the Will was certified and recorded with the Probate Judge of Cloud Co., KS 19 Oct 1880 - the following people signed a Power of Attorney appointing Joseph O. Bastien of Cook Co., IL to "proceed to collect for us all our shares, profits and benefits coming to us from the estate of Pierre Gelino, lately deceased. . ." Helene Bastien (born Gelino), Agnes Gelino, Octavie Sanche (born Gelino), Achilles Gelino, Delda Gelino, all of the city of Chicago. . . 16 Mar 1881 - Probate Court of Cook Co., IL appointed Joseph O. Bastien guardian of the estate of Henry Gelineau, aged 14 years on the 4th day of August, 1880. Feb 1882 - a letter written by the Probate Judge of Cloud Co., KS to Joseph Bastien of Chicago, "Dear Sir, I find there was a Last Will and Testament of Peter Gilineau admitted to Probate on the 11th day of June 1880 and on the same day Henry Gillineau heir and devise of Peter Gillinuau deceased...his petition asking that [Phi---?] Boyer be appointed his said Guardian...said Boyer consented and was duly appointed. . . " I wonder: Is Francois, the son mentioned in the LWT, the Frank Gelino of Kankakee that married Eunice Gregoire? Is he the father of Meddie Gelino of St. Anne (born in 1875) who died in April 1966?     3. Please clarify. Is this Pierre the father of Octavie, Hubert, Peter etc. ? I have searched high and low for a census after the 1860 IL census to find where pierre and Adeline went> Thanks.
