Francois Coyer (Carrier) and Joseph Coyer were possibly brothers. Francois Coyer was born about 1820, in NY or Vermont. On 19 May 1846, he married Rose Boudreau, daughter of Antoine Boudreau and Marie-Anne Michel, sister to Flavie Boudreau Chartier. By 1847, Francois and Rose Coyer were living in Iroquois Co., IL. He died in St. Anne, Kankakee Co., IL, on 12 Jun 1898. Joseph Coyer was born on 3 Aug 1822 in Vermont. About 1846, he married Marie Emelie Chartier, daughter of Antoine Chartier and Marie-Francoise Boivin, sister to Placide Chartier. At the time of the 1850 census, they were living in Addison Co., VT. About 1854, they moved to Kankakee Co., IL. About 1855, Joseph and Emelie had a son named Placide Coyer, born in Aroma, Kankakee Co., IL. Emelie Coyer died about 1856. On 20 Feb 1860, Joseph married again in Kankakee Co., to Rosa LaCoste, daughter of Michel LaCoste and Rosa Sigo/ Sigault. After the Civil War, the family moved to Saline Co., KS, and later to Lincoln Co., OK. Joseph died on 21 Jul 1921, in Prague, Lincoln Co, OK. We would like to find marriage records for Joseph and Francois in order to find their parents' names. We do not know exactly where they were married, though. Can anyone suggest a place to look? Thank you. Cindy Radway
