    3. Thank you so much. I am curious about that last one. St. John is hard to look up on those indexes. It may be spelled so many ways. St. John StJohn St.John St John SaintJohn Saint John St. Jean.... All of these dates do not add up. I am suspecting that maybe he did not serve? He seemed to have been quite busy during the 1860's. When did he have time to go to war? Though he could have been injured early on and sent back. Maybe his injuries did not keep him from marrying or having children. 1838 (May 20) Antoine was born in St. Leon le Grande, Maskinonge, Quebec, Canada 1851 Listed in the 1851 census in St. Paulin, Quebec, Canada age 14. 1860 (June 18)Antoine St. John is listed in the 1860 census in Aroma township age 21. He is farm labor for the Beebe family and born in Canada. 1860 (July 25) Antoine St. Jean is listed in the 1860 census in St. Anne at age 22. He is Farm Laborer for Pierre Drolet, his uncle, and they live next door to Antoine's parents, Lewis and Louise (Drolet) St. John. --(A Farm Laborer may have more than one employer within a year and be listed in the census twice.)-- 1862 (March 4) Antoine marries Marie Marite Patnaude 1862 (End of April?) (January 15) Daughter is born January 15, 1863, and wife dies two weeks later. Daughter dies in February. 1863 (October 3) Antoine marries Marie-Anne Exilda Barsaloux 1864 (about January) Son, Antoine, is born October 22, 1864. 1865 (about May) Son, Phillias Aloysis, is born February 3, 1866. 1866 (about December) Daughter, Artemise, is born August 29, 1867. 1867 Antoine is buried October 23, 1867 in St. Anne, Kankakee, IL. -Cyndi Sweet -----Original Message----- From: Lisa Lepore [mailto:llepore@comcast.net] Sent: Saturday, June 25, 2005 3:07 PM To: ILSTANNE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [ILSTANNE] Civil War - Kankakee residents - Company E 53rd Regiment Hi Cyndi - I've been looking, but can't find anything.
