I was really impressed with St Rose of Lima in Kankakee. Dave King took our St Anne group on a tour last Sept and St Rose was just spectacular. If any of our group are in the area it is a magnificent "don't miss" church to add to your list of places to visit. I am always amazed at the old churches that were built without modern construction equipment. They really surpass any of the new modern churches that are being built. The domed ceilings, woodwork, stain glass, etc are breathtaking. I agree with RAB (Anita) that it gives you a feeling of awe to know your ancestors had attended these churches over 100 years ago. Even the quaint little country churches have a real charm. Audrey
