<< Was the alter lit at St. Rose? >> We got there rather late at night and the church was dark and locked. As we walked around the outside a car pulled up and asked what we were doing. The man in the car turned out to be the Asst. Pastor and was very interested when we told him we were a genealogy group attending the St Anne Pumpkin Fest. He asked us to wait a few minutes, while he parked his car, and entered the rear of the church. He unlocked the front doors, and turned on all of the lights. Then he spent a considerable amount of time showing us everything, and talking about church history, etc. We couldn't have planned it better. I have belonged to a rather modest (by comparison) Lutheran church my entire life. The building is only 60 years. I must say, I fully appreciate the beauty of these old ornate churches. Their statuary is lifesize and look as if they could reach down and touch you. Audrey
