Re: The thing that makes this family soooo difficult to track down is that the last name is spelled different in just about EVERY reference to them! Bren It's not just "this family"...believe me...it's ALL of them. Perhaps there was a strange law back then, stating that you weren't allowed to use the same spelling twice? Today I am looking at a 1672 CT document with 56 signatures. About 4 of them are legible. These men couldn't write their own names clearly enough to be read. I may as well be in an Egyptian tomb deciphering hieroglyphs on the walls. Let's hope our eyesight holds out long enough to finish our genealogy. Audrey
