    1. [ILSTANNE] Related to Celine Dion???
    2. The following article is from Eastman's Online Genealogy Newsletter and is copyright 2000 by Richard W. Eastman. It is re-published here with the permission of the author. <<<Do you have French-Canadian ancestry? If so, you are probably related to Celine Dion. Celine has quite a few of the early settlers of Quebec in her family tree. You can probably find a number of matches with your French-Canadian family tree. When I looked at a list of Celine Dion's ancestors, I noticed more than 16 of my ancestors were listed. Celine and I are cousins several times. (She inherited the singing voice; I certainly did not.) I suspect that most anyone with ancestry in the Quebec City area may find similar relationships. You can find an excellent Web page detailing Celine Dion's ancestry at Norm Brunette's Web page: http://www.scarolina.com/the-french-canadian-connection/celinedion. Notice that the family name originally was Guyon, descending from Jacques Guyon and Marie Huet, who were married before 15 Apr 1583 in France. Other ancestors listed include Louis Hebert and Marie Rollet, Zacharie Cloutier and Zainte Dupont, Guillaume Fournier and Francoise Hebert, Nicolas Roy and Catherine Barre, Noel Langlois and Francoise Grenier, and Francois Belanger and Marie Guyon. Those same names appear in the family trees of millions of other people living today. Source documentation is not available on the Web site. However, most of the information should be available in the standard French-Canadian genealogy reference works, including Drouin and Jette.>>>> Thought we'd enjoy this - and Brenda Hebert (DaSinga), what of YOU? Do let us know if you are among the Dion-related! Salut to all, Ginny VCrawf@aol.com Listowner/administrator, ILSTANNE-L
