Hi Bren, Do you have any information on the LANDRY line.... I am searching for a Julie LANDRY that married a Joseph MARTIN probably around 1870... They lived and I believe were buried in Kankakee, Illinois. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Moyse, Marguerite and their family came to Kankakee County sometime during 1862 or 1863. Prudent FORTIER (s/o Joseph & Madeleine CARPENTIER) I only know he was b. in PQ, I don't know if he ever came to IL. He m. Marie-Olive WOLFF (d/o August Ludwig & Marie-Louise BISSON or BUISSON). She was b. in PQ and was in the 1880 Kkk Census living with Moyse and Marguerite. I don't know if she died in Kkk Co. or if she returned to PQ. The mention of her in the 1880 Census is the only mention of her in Kkk Co. They had three children (maybe more): Sophie (b. abt 1830 PQ, d. u/k, m1. 9 Jan 1855 Louiseville, PQ to Desiré MAILLET II, m2. 12 Oct 1872 Kkk to Henri FLAGEOLE); Godfroy (b. 1836 PQ, d. 13 Oct 1922 Kkk, br. StR, m. 14 Jun 1858 Kkk to Elizabeth MORSE). It looks like Godfroy was the first to arrive in Kkk Co., Desiré and Sophie may have come about that same time. I can't tell when Clémentine came, all I know is she came before 1868. Charles BOUDREAU (s/o Étienne II & Marie-Louise BOURASSA) b. 1825 PQ, d. 21 Aug 1901 Brb, br. Maternity BVM. ROY, Roman Priest to Agnès STRODEUR, m2. 26 Apr 1909 StR to Virginie PAYANT); Éterna(sp?) (b. abt 1856 IL); & George (b. abt Jul 1860 Kkk Co); And finally: Georges DOXTODER (STRUDER) (s/o Jean-Baptiste & Josette GERVAIS) bp. 25 May 1834 in Blairfinde, PQ, d. 3 Jul 1901 Brb, IL, br. Maternity BVM. M. 6 Nov 1855 in Henryville, PQ to Martine-Mathilde LaVOIE (d/o Sixte or Xiste & Marguerite MAILLOUX). She was b. abt. 1836 in PQ, d. 1 Feb 1909 in Brb, IL, br. in Maternity BVM. The children I have been able to confirm are as follows: Martine-Mathilde (b. abt. 1858 in PQ, m1. 24 Feb 1873 to Charles VASSEUR, m2. to ? BISAILLON), Agnes (b. abt 1859 in PQ, d. bef. Apr 1909 in IL, m. 21 Jul 1872 to Lucien BOUDREAU), Elisabeth (b. abt. 1865 in PQ, poss. m. 5 Aug 1878 to Aubin BOUDREAU), Eveline (b. abt. 1866 in PQ or IL, m. 28 Jan 1879 in Kkk Co, IL to Joseph LeCLERC), George (b. abt 1866 in PQ or IL, no other info), Emma (b. abt. 1868 in IL), Charles (b. abt. Dec 1874, d. Apr 1875, br. Maternity BVM), Joseph Zephyr (b. abt Dec 1876, d. Apr 1877, br. Maternity BVM), Maria (b. abt. 1878 in IL), Arthur (b. abt. Jul 1881 in IL, m. Marie PONTON, d. 5 May 1904, br. Maternity BVM). In "The Dockstader Family" book Doris Dockstader Rooney shows only three children: Marie-Martine (bp. 1856), and Marie-Mathilde (bp. 1858) both baptized in St-Alexandre, PQ and a Laura born in Bourbonnais. I never found anything about a Laura in Kkk County. And references to the oldest daughter refer to her as either Martine or Mathilde, I never found any other daughter with the name Mathilde. The thing that makes this family soooo difficult to track down is that the last name is spelled different in just about EVERY reference to them!
