For our newest list members who may NOT be familiar with Tanquay, here is a Roots site that explains how the volumes may be viewed "on-line" and even downloaded for free. (Not that I think anyone would be crazy enough to download all 7 volumes and overload their hard drive) You can also save only a page or two that you are interested in. You might want to check it out 1st rather than ordering a CD you are not familar with and that may not contain any information on your families. This is very informative: Tanguay - Info http://www.rootsweb.com/%7Ecanqc/tanguay.htm The main site link is below, but it would be best to get an overview at the Roots site before going there. Bibliothèque nationale du Québec; Livres et partitions musicales http://www2.biblinat.gouv.qc.ca/numtextes/accueil.htm Photos & prints of Kankakee IL. E-Bay currently has several postcard photos and prints of early Kankakee. You do not have to bid on the items (unless you want the originals)...you can "right click" on the photos and save them to your hard drive. This might be of interest to out of state members who have never been to the area. St Anne was very small back then (still is) so much of the business was conducted in Kankakee. There is an 85 year old postcard offered. They are also offering for sale a copy of a beautiful stained glass window from the Frank Lloyd Wright house located there. Once every week or so I take a few minutes to search for Kankakee, St Anne, and other towns I am interested in. I downloaded a photo of the Charles Town, WV courthouse where my g-grandfather served on the John Brown jury. I also found a very old tintype (?) photo showing his brother's blacksmith shop circa 1870. You can occasionally find some very interesting items. eBay Main Categories use the search option and enter Kankakee http://pages.ebay.com/buy/index.html Audrey Peters
