Francois and his family left St. Leon, Maskinoge County, Quebec in 1844. They settled in Bourbonnais, Illinois after buying 40 acres of land. Death and burial records for Francois have not been found. He may be buried in the old cemetery located behind the Maternity Church in Bourbonnais, Illinois. This is only speculation due to the fact his wife, Tharsile is buried there. The last record found on Francois is from the 1880 census of Bourbonnais. He is listed as 87 years old.
