    3. While browsing through ILSt-Anne list, I found the following information from Brenda Hébert. In the 1860 census in Bourbonnais Twp. there is a Pierre Boudreau and Marguerite Lareau with daughter Belzémire. In my Regnier tree I have Lucien Boudreau s/o Godfrey and Sophie Regnier who is married to Agnes Doxtoder and they have a daughter named Belzémire. I do not have Pierre and Marguerite in my database. Are they related to Lucien? Thank you Lou

    1. Leandre Lambert and Family
    2. Jennifer Wallis
    3. I've been trying to trace my grandfather's family. My grandfather is Leo Lambert, son of Henry Lambert, son of Ambrose Lambert, son of Leandre Lambert. I know that Leandre (b abt 1819/1820) and his wife Sophie (Carpentier) (abt 1826) moved from Quebec, Canada, to Bourbonnais about 1860. They had three children who were born in Canada: Valentine (also seen as Vittertin), Ambrose, and Josephine. While in Bourbonnais they had Anastina and Eli. I'm not at my computer with my genealogy records, so I can't give any dates besides the ones that I can remember. Around 1880 Leandre and his family were shown in the Aurora, KS census (I believe). I know that Valentine was married in Bourbonnais to I believe a John Courville (not sure on this name). I haven't been able to trace back Leandre or Sophie's families back any farther. I know that Leandre, Sophie, Ambrose, and Ambrose's wife, Emma Dorais, all died in Aurora, KS. I have been given a file that shows that Leandre Lambert is Leandre Lambert-Robillard in Canada. I haven't been able to prove this information, though, and I'm not sure how to go about proving it. Leandre Lambert-Robillard married a Sophie Carpentier in Canada and had a daughter named Valentine (I showed the daughter as Vittertin on the 1860 census in Bourbonnais). All of the information seems to match up, but I don't want to enter all of this information (going back to early 1600s in France) and none of it be right. I would greatly appreciate any help that someone can give me. Jenny Wallis

    1. GRANGER, LeBEAU, LeCUYER, LeCLAIR
    2. Bonjour, I am a descendant of Granger, Lebeau, LeCuyer and LeClair families who settled in St. George and Bourbonnais with my Great, Great Grandparents, Charles & Francoise Mathieu Granger settling in St. George about 1847. His Biography states, before arriving to St. George, that they first stopped in Aurora, Illinois. I found out later that other French Canadian families who eventually became relatives of mine did the same. Aurora which is about 50 miles west of Chicago was known to be a Stage Coach and Wagon Train resting stop. I believe my family stayed in Aurora just for a few months for rest, including their horses before moving onward to Bourbonnais and St. George. What I am looking for if it is available, is a map showing their migration route by land. Up to now, I think that the poor dirt farmers went by wagon train coming down through Wisconsin. Stopped in Aurora for rest and then proceeded to Bourbonnais. The French Canadian's that were well to do, went by the water ways, from barge to Steam Ship and landed on the shores of Chicago. But I am really interested on the group that went to the Aurora rest stop first. If you can help me find this map, I would really appreciate it. PS a Carol Anne Chiniquy recommended that I contact you folks. I am also interrested in the possibility of becoming a member of your group. Please send me information telling me what your organization do as far as local historical research. I myself am a Kankakee area history buff. Donald Granger of South Elgin, Illinois
