    3. I found this in the Illinois Statewide Marriage index FONTAIN, GUILAUME FERRY, ROSE 11/19/1890 006/0040 00005947 IROQUOIS And I looked in the St. Marie of Beaverville. There was only this reference Baptism 10 3 Mar 1895 Rose Régnier Born 1 Mar, daughter of Jean Baptiste Régnier & Marie Thétreau (Tétreau) Godparents: Guillaume Fontaine & Rose Thétreau (Tétreau) -note that the priests usually referred to even married women by their maiden names. -Cyndi Sweet -----Original Message----- From: James Jackson [mailto:jtdjacks@hotmail.com] Sent: Tuesday, September 13, 2005 5:45 PM To: ILSTANNE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [ILSTANNE] cemetary location Joseph Ferry married Rosalie Tetreau August, 1872. Can anyone tell me when he died and where his body is buried? Also, in going through my mothers' photographs I found a photo titled "Grandma Fountain". Could Widow Ferry have married a Mr. Fountain? And where and when? Any help would be appreciated. 3. > What has happened to all the other so called genealogists of this list?? Ardis i'm still here, too. trying to translate 2400 ancestors from paper to digital records, and finally getting certified copies of all the source materials in between. the place i'm stuck right now is on my father's maternal side. her maiden name is FRANKER, and i've had no problems tracing them back to quebec, but the other three maternal lines have me hanging. Eli Franker/Francoeur (b 6/10/1848) m Mary Delibac/Dillabeck/somethinglikethat (b 5/12/1853) ca Jan 1869 in Iriquois Co, IL and Hubert Gelino/Gelineau (b c1853) m Milodell Bordre/Bodric/Beaudry (b c1863) in dec 1879 in kankakee, il. Milodell's mother is Armailen Marion, and father is Noal/Noel Bodric/Boudreau. hubert and eli were both born in canada, and immigrated to the US -- specifically the iriquois/kankakee, IL area. milodell and mary were both born in kankakee, il, but parents were born in Canada. to complicate things further, milodell divorced hubert in the late 1880s, and remarried eli franker's brother, remi, in 1893. and family rumour has it that milodell and mary are related somehow, possibly half sisters. oi! -- alyska. ----------- http://www.alyska.net

    2. Ardis, this so called genealogist, has moved on to my Neumanns in Nebraska (from Marienburg, West Prussia, Germany) and with my new found cousin; I have discovered a sister to my gr.gr.grandmother's mother that we didn't know existed. The past three weeks, I have been having a geneaogy Christmas, everyday we are making new discoveris. And a Norton cousin has discovered me too......I have been too busy to post on the list. I still don't know where my Alphonse and Celestine BOUDREAU brothers came from in Canada, or who their parents were. I just know that Alphonse Boudreau married Ceclia Allain, daughter of Michael Allain. Then, I still don't anything Pierrie Giguerre, accept that he was born about June 10, 1810 and married Marie Provencher. She was the daughter of Louis Provencher and Appoline Beland dit Provencher. I can trace all these lines to Nebraska. Then if you throw in everyday stuff..........the time has just flown my. Mary

Eastern Standard Time, bob.powell2@comcast.net writes: I have a big brick wall in finding the siblings and parents of my great great grandmother Marie Payey. I'm still around, too. Haven't had my family tree program up and running for a couple years because my old Compaq froze and we couldn't get back in Last years 3 hurricanes didn't help either. All my genealogy stuff is still pretty much packed in plastic. We didn't get all the repairs done until July so didn't figure it was wise to take much out of storage. I got the Family Tree Program downloaded to a new computer this month and have spent many days just putting in what I had before. I am working on my Ahrens family first this time which is still related to the St. Anne group since several members including my parents have lived in St. Anne. . One of my cousins sent our Family reunion notes from 1936 till the last whole Ahrens family reunion that we had. What a Godsend those notes are. She had a friend type up everything and I think it is now in the Chebanse library. I have info on the Precht side that I got from distant cousins in Denmark and Germany and have found names mentioned in the reunion book from that side, too. I think the reunion actually started as the Precht reunion because there was a little article from the paper. I haven't gotten past my grandpa's (adopted)dad Fred(Fritz) Ahrens and am not really sure where I should be checking. I did get a copy of his citizenship paper which he signed with an X. I also found a story about my Uncle John that said he was able to use the languages spoken in the family home when he was a kid when he was fighting in WW1 in Europe. From what I now know, my greatgrandma spoke Danish, my grandpa spoke German, and they all spoke English. Then because so many of the people living in the community spoke French they learned enough to speak with the neighbors and friends in French. I also haven't gotten far with my grandma Theresa Schulte. From paper written by an aunt, Grandma said her mom was a full-blood Indian from Wisconsin. Haven't found anything to back it up yet. So that is where I am working. On line, I also found the orphanage that my mom's siblings were placed in in Chicago when her dad died. Unpacking stuff this week I found an old e-mail from when I first started looking and it led me to do more research while Hurricane Ophelia was off shore and making us have nothing but rainy days on my vacation. Ardis, I still have never sent for a copy of Fritz and Bertha Ahrens marriage license from Kankakee county. When you get a copy do they list the parents of the bride and groom and their witnesses for the wedding? So I am still plodding slowly along. Hopefully next year I will be able to get back in the area to talk to some of my cousins. Being one of the youngest grandkids I don't remember a lot about Grandma and the family so want to record others memories to add to my Ahrens book. It really can be exciting discovering things you don't know about your history!

    3. I am returning to the list after a few years off. I was looking at the new photos and the one of the 50annvcheffer interested me. I have a Great Aunt Emma DeLude who married a Cheffer around 1912 and I was wondering if anyone on the list knows of her. I am researching DeLude, Saindon, St. John(St. Jean). Karen Virkkala
