Hi everyone... I am attempting a search for my great grandfather's siblings names. My great grandfather was Maurice Tremblay born about 1862 in Quebec to Timothe Tremblay and Florence Crepeau. I know that at least two of the persons in the picture were living in the area covered by this list in the 1890's. My great grandfather Maurice and my great grandmother Anna Marie Martin were married in Aurora, Kansas in 1890, family lore has it that Maurice married Anna after meeting her at the home of a sibling by whom Anna was employed as a maid. If you are interested in the Bonvallet's, you probably should read the article we ran in the Theakiki(Kankakee Valley Genealogical Society's quarterly) in August of 1995. It's entitled "The Bonvallet Asparagus Cannery at Wichert, Illinois" and has four pages of information on the Bonvallet family submitted by Kenneth Bonvallet of Westerville, Ohio. All you need to do is send $4.00 to K.V.G.S., P.O. Box 442, Bourbonnais, IL 60914 and request Volume 25, No. 3. We'll send it out to you. You might also be interested in the society's webpage at www.kvgs.org Marcia Stang
Bonjour Beckey, The book, "The Saga of St Anne" is out of print and to my knowledge there are no plans to print more of them. I received the book as a gift from my step-mother in 1978. It was put out for the Kankakee County Bicentennial and the author was Lois Meiers of St Anne. I have had correspondence with Lois before, so I will write her and tell her the growing interest in her book by our group. I'll let the list know what, if anything, she has to say about the chance of printing more copies. In the meantime, I will copy small sections that deal with the surname you are researching, but I cannot copy the book or large sections without talking to Lois first and getting her permission. I have a photo taken of Maurice and his siblings in 1938 which I have posted on an internet web page... http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~tremblay/index.html Please have a look and let me know if your recognize any of them, from old photos you have of your Tremblay families... Sincerely, Deborah SEARCHING TROMBLEY or TREMBLAY, Montana; Alberta; Oregon; Washington; California; BC; Saskatchewan, Quebec, Canada MARTIN, Quebec, Kankakee, Petit Canada, Illinois.; BC, Canada CREPEAU, Quebec, Canada; Washington LANDRY, Quebec, Canada; Illinois; Kansas Need more info see my web page at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~tremblay/index.html
