But, funny thing, the information I received from my cousin, Lloyd Gadbois, has Joseph's death date as 3 Dec 1900 There are two Josephs listed and I was in a hurry and only gave you one of them. The other Joseph has the same death date as you listed and shows that he was 63 years old. and Pierre's death date as 1 Dec 1889. I don't have any other Pierre in the book. I have the same dates as you do for Julie and Eleanor. Also, I believe you sen info regarding marriage dates for Pierre Gadbois. I wonder if we have the Gadbois families confused? I know there were a couple of Gadbois named Pierre and Joseph in the St. Anne area about the time my guys immigrated there. >> I don't have any marriages listed except for the one I sent you. That means that they were not married by my gr gr uncle, Father Charles Chiniquy. Under the surname LAMBERT, I have a number of entries. Is there anyone special you're looking for. I show nothing for GRANGER in this book. 2. Regarding obits, the Kankakee Public Library has told me that they will look up obits for people writing to them if they are only requesting one thing. I would suggest that anyone wanting an obit to send the exact information on the individual and include a small amount of money for their trouble. If they are looking for someone in an outlying township, you should tell the library the exact location since the early newspapers had separate columns for news from the other townships. If you can't get an obit that way or by writing to the Historical Society, who keep a file of all obits, the genealogy society will make a trip to the library but do request a donation of $10. 1. [ILSTANNE] Obituary
    2. Obituaries: St. Anne did not have a newspaper, but the deaths were often printed in the Kankakee Gazette. This newspaper has been microfilmed. I don't know if the KVGS does newspaper look-ups...perhaps one of the KVGS members will let us know exactly what types of information can be ordered from them. Illinois State Historical Library Old State Capitol Building Springfield, IL 62701-1507 You can order obits directly from the library above. The cost is $1 plus a SASE. However, there may be additional costs for people who live out of state. I have received some very old Chicago & Channahon obits....1850's Audrey

    2. I would appreciate an obit lookup and I am willing to reimburse for expenses. I sent for the death record of Louise (Charbonneau) SPENARD, but the Kankakee County Clerk's office found no record. That office suggested I search in Iroquois County. Louise SPENARD is buried in the St. Anne Township Cemetery and died January 16, 1892. Thanks in advance for your help. Jan Zewari Columbia, MD

    2. Les Arseneau
    3. Try PRDH, it is great for finding ancestors prior to 1800. http://www.genealogy.umontreal.ca/en/main.htm It is relatively inexpensive. I signed up for 150 hits for $15.00 and in the first round, I found an ancestor married in 1769 and his surname was different than the one I had found earlier in parish records. I have passed this info on to a guy in Quebec, who has written a book on the family name, so he is following up with the info to find further data. Les Arseneau ACGS #4530
