    1. [ILSTANNE] Photo Album
    2. Hi, I have forwarded the photo request and info to my Boisvert & Mear cousin, Debbie. She wrote, "I don't know if I will have time to do any scanning this week as I am getting ready to go out of town and have lots to do for the family reunion on Sat. Keep sending the info. Will get to it next week." -Debbie So please keep writing to us. Debbie knows that I am working on the Boisvert & Mear side of the family so she is concentrating on her Irish lines. Therefore, I would love to be "kept in the loop" because some of the photo surnames do fit in our family tree just not the ones we have so far. Thanks much, Robbin

    2. Thanks to Dave Harlow for posting the great link to the article on Dandurand. I wrote the author Wm Urban a short note. Dave King has the Dandurand ancestors. This article and his Petite Canada site fit quite well together. I' m sure all of our early French-Canadian ancestors shared basically the same background. Sure wish Mr. Urban had added a little more on Bourbonnais and Kankakee Co. I have printed it out so I can read it again off-line. Audrey

Urban Dept of History, Monmouth College, Monmouth IL http://www.monm.edu/academic/History/urban/dendurent/dendurent_history.html It details the Dandurand family along with much of the history of the times. However, according to the records we've borrowed, Philomene was Tennis' 3rd wife and not the mother of Wilfred. We have Adeline Deneau as Wilfred's mother. She passed away when he was an infant. We have information borrowed from Sylvester Beaupre of Bourbonnais and Jim Davis of Texas giving us about nine generations back in the Beaupre line. 2. Bob - that was a great bio! As you know, we have listers looking for several of your surnames, so good info should be coming your way soon. To Bob and other new listers: Don't be shy - do just ASK for help (for example, "looking for parents of XXX, born on XX and married XX - does anyone know?") - it's the Genie Way! Do you have a computer program such as Family Tree-Maker on which to store your information? It's essential! And they are easy to use once you get the hang of them. 1. [ILSTANNE] New to the list
    2. Hello to all you folks interested in St. Anne and the surrounding areas. My name is Bob Bovie and I've been monitoring this site since it's inception. Recently Ginny Crawford suggested I introduce myself to the group. Since I don't have a list of the original St. Anne group, I'm not sure how many of you I am personally acquainted with. A bit of personal history: I was born at the Iroquois County Hospital in 1937. My parents, Melvin and Iola (Kirts) Bovie lived in Beaverville at the time. Melvin was the assistant cashier at the Beaverville State Bank. Iola was a schoolteacher, teaching at the Frigon School near Beaverville and the Oak Bank School located between Beaverville and St. Anne, closer to Papineau. Iola was the teacher at Oak Bank when it closed. My family moved to St. Anne in the mid-1940s. Melvin, for many years, was the chief accountant for the St. Anne Brick & Tile Co., and related business owned by Messrs. Cote, Corkins and Parish. Iola continued teaching in the Bradley School District after the Oak Bank School closed. The first 4 years of my schooling was at the Frigon School, with mother as teacher. I then attended the St. Anne Academy and St. Anne Community High School. I attended Univ. of Ill for 1 1/2 years, then sought employment at Armstrong Cork Company in Kankakee. During the 1960s and 1970s I was involved with the St. Anne Village Board, as Clerk, the local Knights of Columbus Council and the St. Anne Youth Activity Group. In 1958 Sandra Beaupre and I were married. Sandra is the daughter of Russell Beaupre (deceased) and Wauneta (Starkey) Beaupre of Bourbonnias. Sandra was born at Lying In Hospital in Chicago in 1937. Her family later moved to Kankakee and then St. Anne. Sandra's grandparents were Wilfred and Nelda Beaupre. Wilfred at one time operated the Beaupre Dairy in St. Anne. Sandra's mother was a long time employee of the St. Anne Post Office. After attending grade school and high school in St. Anne, Sandra worked as a dental assistant for Drs Kratz, Emerson and Van Drunen in St. Anne. In the 1970s Sandra was employed as a floral designer at Village Flowers in St. Anne. Following our marriage, we lived in Harvey, IL for about one year and then returned St. Anne, living there until 1977. At that time I accepted a transfer with Armstrong to their main facility in Lancaster, PA. I continued employment with Armstrong, officially retiring in 1997, but continued on for over two years as a part time computer systems consultant. Sandra and I have three adult offspring. Jill, married to Carl Slagle, with one child, Joey, living in Alexandra, VA. Michael, married to Susan Metzger, with one child, Evan, living here in Lancaster, PA. And Darren, living in Boston, MA, planning his June 10 wedding to Patty Lenz. We are researching these family names: On Bob's side of the family, Bovie (Bauvais or Beauvais), Kerger, Kirts and Regan. Sandra's ancestors are Beaupre, Bourgeois, Starkey and Spurgeon. We've new to this genealogy thing, having just begun in the past few months. Cheers Bob And Sandra Bovie Lancaster, PA

    1. [ILSTANNE] 2nd fire at the National Archives
    2. Thought some of you might be interested in the non-St Anne article. It didn't say if they think he was also responsible for the 1st one. Audrey College Park, MD--The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) has been informed that this morning the Federal Protective Service arrested a NARA employee, Marlon M. Mason, charging him with arson in connection with a fire on April 5 in the Washington National Records Center operated by NARA in Suitland, Maryland. The accused employee was turned over to the Fire Marshall of Prince George's County, Maryland. The fire was discovered by employees in a stack area at the records center, where NARA stores records that are no longer needed by federal agencies in their Washington area offices, but remain in the agencies' legal custody. NARA employees and contract guards extinguished the fire with hand-held fire extinguishers and were subsequently assisted by the Prince George's Fire Department. No one was injured by the fire, and damage was limited to a few boxes of records, which the NARA staff is attempting to salvage. This fire followed one that broke out in the same records center on February 29. That, too, caused some records damage, but was contained and extinguished without harm to anyone in the building. NARA employs the accused employee part time as an archives aid. He has worked for NARA since December 27, 1994. ==============================

    3. Hi Robert, The only Lambert I have for sure is Eleanor (also listed as Leanor and Elinor) Lambert. I believe he married Joseph Gadbois April 12, 1858 in Kankakee Co. Joseph was from Trois Riveres, Quebec. The census taken at St. Anne in 1860 records Joseph as being aged 22 and his wife, Eleanor, as 20. Neither is shown as being able to read or write at that time but it is recorded that Eleanor was attending some form of school to correct that problem. --Rachelle RobertL832@aol.com wrote: > > Hi; I am a Lambert whose g-parents were from Ste. 3. Hi Carol Anne, Yes, this looks like my Pierre and Joseph. But, funny thing, the information I received from my cousin, Lloyd Gadbois, has Joseph's death date as 3 Dec 1900 and Pierre's death date as 1 Dec 1889. I have the same dates as you do for Julie and Eleanor. Also, I believe you sent info regarding marriage dates for Pierre Gadbois. I wonder if we have the Gadbois families confused? I know there were a couple of Gadbois named Pierre and Joseph in the St. Anne area about the time my guys immigrated there. I was told they were run out of town and may have moved over to Cairo for awhile. (Family lore here, don't quote me!) They were apparently not related to my Gadbois family. I have a marriage datefor Pierre Edward Gadbois and Julie Mary Granger of June 29, 1856. Does that match up with your info at all? I also have a marriage date for Joseph Gadbois and Eleanor Lambert of April 12, 1858.
